The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Field Support Office in Plano, TX was honored to give over 300 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.
“Last fall, I had the ability to get a group of people to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was such an amazing experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a vital part of this community.”
Minnie’s Food Pantry was started by Cheryl Jackson as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent her younger years wondering if and where she would get her next meal. Minnie’s doesn’t just provide free, healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to incorporate the food they receive to cook nutritious, long-lasting meals. They also provide resume aid along with money-management and job classes to help members of the community get back on their feet.
Because around 50 pounds of food is given to each family to last them a month, Service Experts was able to supply meals for six families for the month.
“Everyone was so excited that we had this food drive for Minnie’s Food Pantry, and they even showed our group their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
