Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

Two Service Experts centers are making a statement this October with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are each going to paint two of their work vans pink for the fight to end breast cancer.

Throughout the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be donating 20% of all sales from their pink vans to Summit-based Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help fight breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be donating 5% of all sales from their pink vans and also donate $10 for every furnace tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second year Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted multiple vans pink to raise funds for breast cancer. In 2015, Fras-Air raised over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. General Manager David Schneider and one of his technicians both lost their mothers to alternative forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute says that 107,184 women in New Jersey suffered from breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider stated. “While the quantity of cases is actually decreasing each year, that still leaves a huge number of families who are dealing with this disease, and that means there’s an immediate need for research and support.”

The General Manager of Service Experts of Raleigh, Chris Overton, echoed Schneider’s sentiments. “As stated by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the number one type of cancer in our state – for men and women.”
